Make Your Poetry Zing! A Poetry Reading Workshop. Want to improve your presentation skills? Bring a short poem to share. Learn how to enhance your poetry reading skills from the performance-poet, Louise Moises. In this hour-long adventure, Louise will outline simple means to make your poetry reading shine.
Louise Moises
Louise Moises graduated from San Jose State majoring in Speech and Drama with an emphasis on “Oral Interpretation of Literature.” She has been a puppeteer, storyteller, teacher, and owner of an antiquarian bookshop. She began seriously writing poetry in 2017 as a means of dealing with grief but has since expanded to incorporate all themes that touch her life.
Louise has been a featured reader on several Zoom poetry sites including Benicia First Tuesdays, Sacred Grounds, Riverside Poets, Ina Coolbrith Circle and at various churches and schools. Her readings on open mics continue to receive accolades from her fellow poets. Her poems have earned numerous awards from the Marin, Alameda and San Mateo County Fairs, the Ina Coolbrith Circle, Lincoln Poets, et.al. She has been published in anthologies both in print and online. Her first chapbook from Finishing Line Press will be available for purchase in April.
