2024 Frank Bette Plein Air Paintout Juror
BARBARA TAPP
The 2024 juror for the Frank Bette Plein Air Paintout will be Barbara Tapp. She is an award winning plein air painter who exhibits and participates in events across the country, including the past 3 years in the Frank Bette Plein Air Paintout. Barbara is originally from Australia. She graduated with a degree in Interior Design from a school in Sydney Australia. After graduation, she traveled around Europe for 18 months. Barbara moved to San Francisco in 1980 and now lives in the Berkeley area where she raised her family. She worked as an architectural and book illustrator for 36 years. After retiring from working as an illustrator Barbara focused on watercolors, and has been painting for about 12 years. She has described herself as “a curious watercolorist” who paints the world around her. Her Plein Air paintings show her love for strong perspective views and telling a story. Barbara believes that drawing and sketching are key foundations in thoughtful paintings. Frank Bette Center for the Arts is proud that Barbara Tapp will be the juror for our 19th Annual Plein Air Paintout. |
